Thalappakatti Biriyani was
founded in 1957 by Mr. Nagasamy Naidu, in the name of
Anandha Vilas Biriyani Hotel in Dindigul.
In order to cover his baldness, he always wore a turban
called THALAPA (a traditional wearing in head which is
otherwise called as Mundass), over his head which
enabled to earn the name of "Thalappakatti Naidu" for
Right from the start, he emphasized a
lot on the delicious taste of Biriyani by his meticulous
selection of ingredients required for the preparation of
Biriyani from quality masala products. He prepared the
Biriyani making use of superior quality of Seeragasamba
rice know as Parakkum sittu and meat obtained from
top-class breeds of cattle particularly found in the
famous cattle-markets of Kannivadi and Paramathi.
