this temple dates back to 11th century. People
believe Saint Valmigi the author of the Epic

Shirdi Sai Baba Temple :
After Prarthan Theatre to reach this Temple.
Built by Shri Shridi Saibaba spiritual and
charitable trust almost all the deities are
installed. The Tri Murthy Brahma Vishnu and Siva
statutes are also here besides that of
Thattariya, Lingam, Parvathi, Durga etc. This is
the first temple out of 108 built on the
initiatives taken by the Guruji of Delhi temple
and the IPS officer C.P. Satpathy. Feeding of
the poor takes place every Sun. & Thu. The

Thameem Ansari Baba Darga :
A devoted follower of the words and deeds of
Prophet Mohamed was born in Medina. Soon after
his demise, and as per his last wish, his mortal
remains were put in a coffin and immersed in the
sea. However, it reached the shores of Kovalam
beach. Thus came into being the holy shrine of
the muslim Saint Thameem Ansari Baba. The first
Thursday after full moon day is observed as a

Covelong Beach :
This is a
small fishing village 40 kms from Chennai on the
Mahabalipuram Road. There are the remains of a
fort which now functions as a luxury beach
resort. Facilities for windsurfing and swimming

Nithya Kalyana Perumal Temple :
Which is 10 minutes drive from Mayajaal along
ECR. 42 kms from Chennai. This holy shrine is
one among the 108 temples called Tirupathy. The
presiding deity is holding her on the left side.
So it is called Thiru-Idathu-Eanthai which over
a period of time came to be called as Thiru-
vidanthai. Tamil Saint Thiru Mangai Alwar has
sung the glory of this holy place in ten places
in his famous ‘Pasuram’. There are several
messages relating to this is available in the
stone scripture of first Raja Raja Cholan and
Vijaya Rajendra Cholan. Garuda Sevai during the
Tamil month of Aani, Pooram during the month of
Aadi, Spring festival during the month of
Vaigasi are the important events. Time : Morning

Crocodile Bank :
44 kms from Chennai. There are various pits in
this centre. Thousands of crocodiles and
alligators from all over the world found here.
There is also a tribal society which runs a

Two-hour drive down the East Coast Road (100 km)
is Kadapakkam. Turn eastwards into the narrow
village road and drive for about 3 km till you
cross a small bridge. After this, the road turns
into a sandy track. A few hundred yards after a
right turn at the next fork takes you to the
ruins of Alamparai Fort. The significence of the
fort is displayed on a green board at the
entrance. The board gives us a peek into the
history of th eruins of this 18th Century fort.
One can experience the majestic fort from the
back waters even better. There are many local
fishermen who are more than happy to take u on a
boat ride around the fort in the back waters for
a mutually agreed amount.
